Christmas-themed treasure hunt
The activity was designed for our 6th-grade students, in order to combine the festive spirit with meaningful learning about environmental awareness. Students had to solve riddles and complete tasks that promoted sustainable practices, such as recycling, reducing waste, and saving energy. Each clue guided them to different locations within the school, like the classroom, the cafeteria, and the principal’s office, where they performed specific actions, including singing carols and deciphering coded messages. The final “treasure” was Santa’s lost hat, along with a unique Christmas ornament for each student, made from recyclable material.

This year, we decided to celebrate Christmas a little differently – with sustainability in mind! Together with our sixth-grade students, we created a special video guide on how to enjoy an eco-friendly holiday season. In the video, the children share practical tips for reducing waste, reusing materials, and making thoughtful, sustainable choices during the festive season. From handmade decorations and eco-f
riendly gift wrapping to mindful shopping and reducing food waste, our students demonstrated how small actions can make a big difference for our planet. This project was a wonderful opportunity for the students to develop their creativity, teamwork, and environmental awareness. Through their efforts, they learned how to spread joy not just to people, but also to the Earth. We are proud of our sixth graders for inspiring others to embrace a greener way of celebrating Christmas. We hope their message reaches far and wide, reminding everyone that the true spirit of Christmas includes caring for our world! Merry (and sustainable) Christmas!
